2A Tactics
Armed with knowledge & confidence
2A Tactics is a family-owned business, dedicated to firearm training in the Elko County area. Previously known as Handgun Assurance, we have been in business for over 7 years. We specialize in helping new shooters, especially women, become comfortable and confident handling a pistol, and the experienced shooter become prepared to carry a concealed firearm.
About 2A Tactics
2A Tactics was born out of a passion to help empower individuals to take an active role in their own, and their loved ones’, personal safety. We provide a firearms training experience that will develop and hone the skills of beginners and experienced shooters alike. Our mission is to arm individuals with the knowledge and confidence necessary to be responsible gun owners and educated concealed firearm permit holders.
As we saw more and more trouble and unrest in the world and communities around us, we began to realize the necessity of taking personal responsibility for the safety of our families. We realized that no matter how much we wanted to protect them, without the tools to do so, our options were limited. As we implemented our own tools, including pursuing the training and legal requirements to responsibly carry and conceal a firearm, we encouraged others in our social circles to consider their responsibility for their own personal safety. We found many, particularly women, who were interested but had no idea how to go about learning and becoming confident in that area. We began taking groups to the range to work with and teach them in an unofficial capacity. As we witnessed the transformation in these individuals as their confidence grew, we knew we had a responsibility… and 2A Tactics was born.
We believe we are our own family’s first responders and have a God-given right and responsibility to protect ourselves and our loved ones. We believe a responsibly armed community is a safer community. Let 2A Tactics arm you with the knowledge and confidence to help ensure the safety of you and your family.

Instructors
Dale Bolinder
Dale was raised in a ranching environment where hunting and shooting guns were part of daily life. As an adult, he worked in the mechanical field where he prided himself in learning everything he could about how machines worked and passing that knowledge to his fellow employees. He transitioned to a formal position as an instructor where he taught Diesel and Heavy Equipment classes for over 15 years, both on the college level and for local dealerships. That drive to continuously learn and a share his knowledge is reflected in his passion of teaching others to be responsible firearm owners and carriers.
Dale is an NRA Certified Instructor in Pistols, Personal Protection Inside the Home, Personal Protection Outside the Home, as well being a certified Range Safety Officer. He has been teaching Basic Pistol classes since 2013, and Concealed Carry classes since 2016.
Karen Bolinder
Karen came into the world of firearms and shooting a little later in life when her sons introduced her to pistol shooting, dragging her heals the whole way. Once she got a taste of it, she was hooked. Wanting to feel more knowledgeable and confident about guns, she enrolled and traveled to a women’s only basic handgun class. This is where her passion to provide the same opportunity to women locally was born. Karen’s passion is to take a woman who is uncomfortable or doubts her ability to even shoot a gun and help her through her development where, at the end of the day, she’s feeling comfortable and confident handling a gun. She especially loves empowering women to take responsibility for their own safety.
Karen is certified by the NRA as an instructor in Pistols, Personal Protection Inside the home, Personal Protection Outside the Home, and NRA Refuse to Be a Victim. She has been teaching basic pistol classes since 2014, and concealed carry classes since 2016.
Caleb Bolinder
Caleb is a firearm enthusiast and our resident gun guru. Studying how firearms function and learning all about their components is a major hobby of his. He is certified as a Pistol Instructor by the NRA and has been teaching pistol basics since 2013.
